   Getting Involved

Autism is a bio-neurological developmental disability that generally appears before the age of 3 and impacts the normal development of the brain.  The areas of the brain affected by the Autism Spectrum are social interaction, communication skills, and cognitive function.  Everyone affected by Autism often suffer from other medical conditions such as: allergies, asthma, epilepsy, digestive disorders, persistent viral infections, feeding disorders, sensory integration dysfunction, sleeping disorders, and more. Autism is diagnosed more often in boys than girls and its prevalence is not affected by race, region, or socio-economic status.  For the past 20 years, Autism has climbed steadily to an alarming rate of one in 68 children in the United States alone.

Our organization’s mission is to create awareness and help the children on the Autism Spectrum, since currently, there is no cure for autism.  We provide support groups integrated with activities to help these children excel.  We also give support to their families and teach them how to cope and give them the tools necessary to understand and nurture their children. We believe that through early intervention and treatment, the diverse symptoms related to Autism can be greatly improved.

Coney Island Autism Angels can only achieve its goals with the assistance of generous donations from members of our community. Without these donations, serving the children and their families in our area and adjacent neighborhood would not be possible.

We rely on the generosity of individuals like you.  We ask you to consider a donation to our cause.

We hope that you will help support our efforts and thank you in advance for your generosity.
